Who we are
Feldenkrais Method with Mind Body Studies
Based on neuroscience and physiological research, this work is based on the teachings of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais and further refined and developed by Mia Segal and Leora Gaster of Mind Body Studies (MBS) Academy.
Khaw Sa Chien
Khaw Sa Chien is the founder of Functional Integration Centre based in Singapore. She has more than 30 years of bodywork therapy and is highly passionate about teaching the Feldenkrais Method to help others refine their way of moving and being.
Sa Chien studied directly under Grandmaster of the work - Mia Segal and Leora Gaster of Mind Body Studies (MBS) Academy, both of whom had the most direct, extensive and intensive trainings and experiences with Moshe Feldenkrais.
She finds great joy and fulfilment when her clients walk away pain free and with improved functional mobility.
Fiona Phua
As a somatics explorer and educator, I combine my experience with the work of the Feldenkrais Method through Mind Body Studies Academy, Pilates and Iyengar Yoga to help people to grow in awareness through movement.
Having been diagnosed with scoliosis at a young age and having experienced chronic migraines, knee pain and neck pain, I understand that being able to wake up each morning without pain and being able to move with ease IS joyful.
The movement practice is a way to welcome new perspectives and open ourselves to new ways of being - in freedom.
I help people with injuries, chronic pain management and rehabilitation work. Seeing clients and students move with more ease and feeling “more alive” after sessions motivates me to continue on this path.
My purpose is to support people to live free and full lives, in harmony with nature.
Fiona is the co-creator of FIC program.

I had chronic backache since my twenties and my quest to ease the condition led me to Sa Chien. Initially, I just wanted to get quick fixes for my pain and would just ask for private sessions. As Sa Chien shared more about the philosophy and principles about Feldenkrais Method, I started to attend weekly classes.
I learnt that the aim was not to ‘fix’ the pain but to get the mind and body connection. With awareness, my body ‘rewires’, adjusts and releases the tension that causes tightness and pain sensations.
Nowadays, I am able to move with greater ease and easily overcome any physical limitations of stiffness due to too much standing or walking with some simple movements.
I am inspired by Sa Chien’s vision to pioneer the FIC Program in Singapore and the region. The idea of empowering people with skills to help themselves sparked my desire to join the team in the work.
I hope to contribute as a support for the administrative and operations aspects of the programs.
Learn the Method.
Join us for a session.
